Dorothea Macleod
State Registered Chiropodist / Podiatrist
Registered with the Health Professions Council

Dorothea (Thea) Macleod qualified as a State registered Chiropodist/Podiatrist in 1995 and is registered with the Health Professions Council. She gained experience working for the NHS in Cambridge and Huntingdon before establishing her multi-disciplinary practise in Brooklands Avenue the following year. The practice grew steadily and by 2003 had outgrown its premises so, under the guidance of Stella Archer, (Thea's osteopath colleague and now business partner) the move was made to the Coach House Clinic.

Thea provides a full range of treatments from basic foot care (corns, callus, verrucae and difficult toe nails) to care of the diabetic foot, nail surgery under local anaesthetic, paediatric foot problems and biomechanics/sports injury management. She keeps up to date by attending regular study days and is developing an interest in the new area of Forensic Podiatry.

All initial consultations are for 30 minutes and during that time most problems can be addressed. Nail surgery and biomechanical assessments need longer appointments so it's a good idea to phone the clinic for guidance before a booking is made.

Thea is also a Registered Nurse and Midwife and worked variously as a District Nursing Sister, Practise Nurse, Marie Curie Nurse and Macmillan Cancer Care Specialist in Cambridge before leaving to retrain for her current work.

She has a grown-up family and a fairly busy life outside work which includes singing with Cambridge Chorale and involvement with the Rotary movement (a charitable organisation). She cycles, has recently taken up Morris dancing and has a weakness for shoe shops...

Alexander Taylor BSc Hons(Pharm), BSc Hons (Ost)
Registered Osteopath

Alexander Taylor

Alexander graduated from the British School of Osteopathy in Central London and moved directly to practice in Cambridge. With an additional degree in Pharmacology, he brings an in-depth medical training to his work as an Osteopath.

He has also undertaken a number of post-graduate courses in Cranial Osteopathy and Visceral Osteopathy which enable him to deploy additional techniques that are suitable for all age ranges- from babies to adults – and for both men and women where there may be pelvic dysfunction, or gastro-intestinal related disorders. He also has a special interest in the problems relating to headaches; facial pain; arthritic conditions; IBS and repetitive strain injuries.

Alexander adopts an adaptive approach to Osteopathy based on individual patient needs. He also focuses on patient awareness and self-help to assist in the prevention of future injuries. Alexander also works closely with the Cambridge Rheumatology department for more effective cross referral with general medicine.

Alexander is pleased to be able to contribute to the well being of local sportsmen and sportswomen and provides maintenance to most of the first team members at Histon Football Club. He also is the proprietor of Haverhill Osteopathic Centre and splits his time between both clinics.

Caroline Bordoni BSc (Ost.)
Registered Osteopath

Caroline Bordoni

Caroline is a fully qualified registered osteopath with 15 years experience who specialises in cranial osteopathy. She trained at the British School of Osteopathy and completed the 4 years degree course in 1992.

Caroline worked for several well known cranial osteopaths until setting up her own practice in King’s Lynn in 1996. This quickly successfully grew into a multi-disciplinary complementary clinic with 3 osteopaths. Caroline moved to Cambridge in 2007 for family reasons. Caroline keeps her practice alive and vibrant through continuous professional development, group workshops and post-graduate courses in the UK and overseas.

Caroline’s gentle approach is particularly suited to working with babies, children, pregnant women. Caroline has a lot of experience of working with sensitive or nervous people who may have had bad experiences in relation to being touched. She is interested in why some people are slow to get better and has found many reasons for this. One of the blocks to healing can be shock or trauma both physical and emotional that gets held in the body tissues, inhibits the person’s full potential, creates pain and contributes to disease. Caroline’s holistic, respectful, insightful and effective approach has helped a lot of people to get better.

Danielle Crawshaw
Registered Osteopath

Danielle Crawshaw graduated from The British School of Osteopathy in 1999 and followed this up with post-graduate courses in Cranial Osteopathy. During this period of further study she worked on a voluntary basis at the Osteopathic Centre for Children to further consolidate her skills and to gain valuable experience in treating a variety of conditions including colic, sleeplessness and bed-wetting.

More recently Danielle has been exploring the treatment of pregnant and post-partum women, and also the treatment of pelvic dysfunction in women of all ages. She also has extensive experience as a general osteopath, treating conditions such as whiplash, tension headaches, work-related neck and shoulder problems and back pain (including sciatica).

Danielle uses a holistic approach to treatment and as well as treating symptoms will address lifestyle stressors (including work station ergonomics) and give advice on exercises.

Danielle is passionate about osteopathy and is dedicated to her work. She practices at The Coach House Clinic 3 ½ days per week.

Moraig Goodwin
Registered Osteopath

Moraig Goodwin

Moraig is a fully qualified Registered Osteopath, having re-trained after working as an archaeologist for many years. She continues her development as an osteopath by undertaking post-graduate courses and by working as a teaching assistant at the College of Osteopaths where she trained; she is also a member of the British Osteopathic Association.

Moraig has a mixed approach to treatment, using both structural techniques as well as gentler cranial approaches. She treats a wide range of people but has a particular interest in working with babies and children and with women during and after pregnancy.

Osteopathy is very much about self-empowerment and Moraig often gives advice to patients on posture, exercise and lifestyle changes. This advice can aid recovery and prevent or reduce the risk of re-injury, as well as ensuring that each patient is fully involved in his or her healthcare.

Steven Goddard
Registered Osteopath

Steven Goddard

Steven Goddard graduated from The British College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2004 and spent his first post-graduate year in Cardiff before moving to the Coach House Clinic in April 2006.

"Anyone who has experienced osteopathy will know that each osteopath has an individual approach to treatment, honed and developed through practise and experience.

During my time in practice I have found it helpful to consider the human body as a complex machine, though one we tend to neglect until it shows signs of malfunction. Generally speaking, the more care we take of this machine, the better it performs and the longer it will function smoothly.

Pain is the symptom of dysfunction that generally drives people to seek advice form an osteopath. My approach is to treat the symptoms using a variety of techniques, but also to analyse the cause of the problem and work with the patient towards preventing its occurence."

Steven uses a variety of techniques including structural, cranial and soft tissue manipulation in a programme designed for the individual patient. He also encourages patient participation in recovery from injury by giving simple stretches and exercises to be performed at home.

Lorna Macintyre
State Registered Chiropodist / Podiatrist

Lorna Macintyre graduated from Queen Margaret College in Edinburgh in 1989 with a Diploma in Podiatric Medicine. She moved to Cambridge to work full-time for Cambridge Health Authority, undertaking all aspects of Podiatry- biomechanics, nailsurgery, children's foot clinics, routine foot-care clinics and domiciliary work.

As the mother of three young children, she now works part-time for East Cambs and Fenland PCT, does some private home visits and works one day a week at the Coach House Clinic.

Diana Hall MCSP
State Registered Chiropodist / Podiatrist
Registered with the Health Professions Council

Diana is a Chartered Physiotherapist, registered with the Health Professions Council. She trained at the London Hospital and qualified in 1976. She worked at Addenbrookes Hospital for 3 years, followed by a short spell at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, Harlow before moving into private practice.
